Synopsis – Drake Burroughs is inducted as Wildfire. The Legionnaires investigate sabotage at a underwater purification facility only to find a “devil-fish” destroying the plant and alien invaders destroying the plant. The creature helps the Legion repel the invaders and reveals that he survives on pollution and can purify the oceans naturally.

Comments – I believe that Wildfire is the 25th active member. Somebody call the ERS (Eternal Revenue System). See Index 1114, Action 387. Except for a few stories in the future, this is the last of the Cockrum era. It is amazing to me that he had suck a lasting effect on Legion fandom in only 15 stories.

Wow, if I'd read this a day earlier I'd have not gotten the ERS reference, but I'm working my way through Showcase Vol. 4 and just read that yesterday.
